A Jivan Mukta - someone who has attained nirvikalpa Samadhi, the realization of the Self (Paramasiva), and is liberated from rebirth while living in a human body - is rare. To this parampara of jivanmuktas belonged Sri Chandrasekhara Bharati, the 34th Acharya of Sringeri Sharada Peetham. Sometime in some country a great soul like Him takes birth. One must be fortunate even to get a glimpse of such a Jivanmukta, for it ennobles his life
Once some Adhikaaris of the Mysore Government paid and unscheduled visit to Sringeri. They had a request for the MahaSwami since the entire state of Mysore was on the verge of a famine since there was no rain. They met Sri Srikantha Sastrigal to forward this request to the MahaSwami. But the Mahaswami did not give them an opportunity to present a map that they had prepared marking all the places in Mysore State which were facing drought. They just met with the Mahaswami and satisfied with the "answers" that Mahaswami gave them they got ready to leave.
